The YWCA is looking for someone who wants to work overnight, on a part-time basis, as a domestic violence crisis counselor. As a Part-time Overnight Crisis Counselor, you will answer our crisis hotline, giving appropriate responses to callers, and you will also provide direct-care services to women and children who are temporarily living in our domestic violence shelter. You will need a high school diploma or GED and related experience to be considered; Bachelor degree is preferred. You will also need to have very good communication, interpersonal, conflict resolution and organizational skills; fluency in Spanish and English is a plus. You will be working with a great team of professionals who are dedicated to our Mission and to providing the highest level of service to the women and children in our shelter. To be successful in this job, you must have a strong interest in helping women break the cycle of domestic violence and in providing support to them as they move to a life of safety and security. Hours: Saturday-Monday, Midnight to 8:00 a.m.
The YWCA has a great opportunity for you if you want to work weekends and help women and children who are fleeing domestic violence. Our Part-time Weekend Crisis Counselor answers our crisis hotline, giving appropriate responses to callers and providing direct-care-services to women and children who are temporarily living in our domestic violence center. This position has a primary focus for helping women move toward self-sufficiency and self-determination. Qualified candidates will have excellent communication, interpersonal, conflict resolution and organizational skills. You will need a HS diploma, or GED, and related experience; Bachelor’s preferred. Preference will be given to bi-cultural candidates who are fluent in both English and Spanish. Hours: 2nd and 4th Saturday and Sunday of each month 8am-8pm.

You will also need to have very good communication, interpersonal, conflict resolution and organizational skills; fluency in Spanish is a plus. You will be working with a great team of professionals who are dedicated to our Mission and to providing the highest level of service to the women and children in our shelter.
