During the week of March 15th- 19^th, twenty-two girls participated in the first Girls Inc.^® at the YWCA Spring Break Camp. Girls form Jere Baxter Middle, West End Middle and Brick Church Middle were engaged in numerous activities throughout the week, which allowed the girls to form new friendships.

Ericka Dunlap, Miss America 2004, visited the camp to give the girls encouraging and motivating words on self-esteem. The girls visited the Body Exhibit to learn more about their bodies. The girls also participated in a college tour to Fisk University, self portrait painting and a debate on “Interracial Adoption”. The week ended with a Luncheon Banquet at Maggiano’s.
