Family Literacy Center

The Family Literacy Center offers high quality, culturally sensitive, comprehensive family-centered programming to help families break the cycle of intergenerational poverty and illiteracy. The Family Literacy Center focuses on early childhood education, parent-child learning time, parenting education, adult literacy, career services and continuing education support for families.

Our program includes adult education, children's education, parenting education, and interactive parent-child learning time. More than 45 percent of female-headed households live in poverty in Davidson County. Low family income and a mother’s lack of education are the greatest risk factors to a child’s early learning and development.

Our Family Literacy Center is made possible through generous grants from the United Way of Metropolitan Nashville and the Dollar General Literacy Foundation.
