The generosity of the Nashville community was fabulously displayed during the fifth annual Wine Women & Shoes event at the Renaissance Nashville Hotel on February 18. More than 650 women — and a few dozen men — including attendees, volunteers and vendors, came together to support the Domestic Violence Services programs of YWCA Nashville & Middle Tennessee. The event raised more than $335,000 through donations, sponsorships, ticket sales, live and silent auctions, the Wall of Wine, Key to the Closet and marketplace vendor sales. The attendees were also treated to a celebrity performance by Clare Bowen of the hit CMT/HULU series Nashville.
WW&S is a fun way to raise awareness, funds, and friends for the YWCA's Weaver Domestic Violence Center. The Weaver Center is the largest emergency shelter in the state of Tennessee, providing nearly 17,000 nights of safety to more than 450 women and children each year.
