YWCA Hosts 8th Annual Wine Women & Shoes in February 2020

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Dec. 5, 2019) – Hundreds of Nashville’s most fashion-forward women will gather at the Music City Center for the eighth annual Wine Women & Shoes on Saturday, February 22, 2020. Proceeds will benefit the Domestic Violence Services programs of YWCA Nashville & Middle Tennessee, including the Weaver Domestic Violence Center, the 24-Hour Crisis & Support Helpline, Re-New at the YWCA, children’s counseling, and other supportive services. Each year, more than 550 women and children are served at the Weaver Center and 5,000 calls for help are answered on the crisis line.The afternoon event is presented by Regions and features fine wines from some of the country’s top vintners and an array of national and local marketplace vendors, including Kendra Scott, Vinnie Louise, and LOVE Thirteen. The event also hosts live and silent auctions, a Wall of Wine, and much more.“Wine Women & Shoes brings together women – and quite a few good men – who want to have fun but also want to give back to a cause that impacts so many,” said YWCA President and CEO Sharon K. Roberson. “Domestic violence affects people of every background and socioeconomic class. Wine Women & Shoes is an opportunity for everyone to come together and support programs that are saving and changing the lives of women, children, and families in our community.”This year’s Wine Women & Shoes co-chairs are Lucia Folk, Cameron Simmons, and Laquita Stribling. Working with a team of volunteers, they’re pulling out all the stops to make WW&S 2020 the best event yet, including a “Key to the Closet” filled with prizes worth over $15,000.Last year, more than 500 people attended Wine Women & Shoes and $390,000 was raised to support the Weaver Domestic Violence Center, the largest emergency shelter in the state of Tennessee.
